...like it used to feel back in grade school. When they confirm that classes are suspended, we sing chants and happily go home, thankful that the storm just totally made our day. THAT'S SO 10 years ago. Today, we thought classes are suspended because of the heavy rains - it wasn't. A student from CBE caught the influenza virus. She's the first confirmed case. EVER. Uni just got way more un-cool. It's not funny, I tell you. It's terribly frightening. Do you know how much I was itching to go back to school during the summer? I waited for so long to be a sophomore already! And after less than 2 weeks of basking in the glory of college - we are now officially on a 10-day term break.
(Note: term breaks only take 7 to 8 days). Stupid virus. It breaks my heart... I've been so in love with school works these days that I just can't get enough of them. Seriously.. I've been trying to get things right so easily, and then you cut it all off again. Oh come on! I've been throwing myself into lots of reading and then you give me a break? You disgust me!!!
As for my only consolation, I found my booked plane ticket bound for L.A. while having breakfast this morning. As always, I dream ahead.. and now I picture myself walking in the outlets of L.A. and San Francisco, too, in winter sunshine. Since it will be Christmas (when I get there). In California, baby! (=
All I probably need now is a good pair of boots, several cashmere sweaters, another beautiful silk scarf, some 70 denier black tights, garments with animal prints and a cute traveling bag! I can smell the most wonderful time of the year from here....
